My car has been parked up for two years - is it worth recommissioning it?
I have a 2013 Vauxhall Corsa with only 67,000 miles on clock, however it has been idle for 2 years. Would it pay me to get it renovated or just let it go ?
Recommissioning your car after a two-year lay-up shouldn’t be too difficult - you’ll need a fresh battery and some fuel, and we’d advise cranking the engine with a coil detached to prime it with oil before starting. Once that’s done, you’ll need to carefully inspect the brakes and clean them up, and get the car inspected by an MoT garage to check for deterioration elsewhere. You’re also likely to need new tyres and wiper blades.
