Overall reliability

All round, understated, car for life. Simply effortless.

Top of the range, big, torquey, effortless and a real 'do anything' car. Avoided diesel for too many reported issues; always liked the bulletproof 3.0R six cylinder; sought out the more modern 3.6R version. The car itself is more anonymous and certainly less distinctive than the older model. Mechanically feels solid, with a strong, meaty power delivery, though you'd never call it sporty! Economy range 25 worst tank, 34mpg best tank, overall 29 over 3k miles so far. Annoying there's no spare wheel. Great value, and I convinced myself that the whole life cost probably matches the diesel once you balance out all the costs.... time will tell.
