A Pup

We bought this car in July 2014 to replace our old X-Trail for a trip to Norway late 2014 via Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. Loved the car, all the toys I wanted, very comfortable, great load carrying capacity, good engine and handling. Made the trip October 2014, and started return late November 2014. We had driven about 500 km and got into Germany just South of Hamburg when the car suddenly lost power and went into a limp home mode. No warning lights appeared on the dash. Stopped on the side of the autobahn. Waited some minutes and restarted the car but still in limp home. Short version is we had to get recovered (well done Green Flag), car taken to a Subaru service centre about 20km away. overnight in hotel then flew back to UK. After a few days we received notification that the problem was a boost pressure sensor. So far so good. Flew back out about a week later to collect the car. Set off for Hook of Holland, drove for 300km car was flying running really well when the same thing happened again. Same thing no warnings nor lights. Once again got recovered to ferry and arrived home in UK next day. Car to dealer. They could find no problem with it, no error codes in OBD. We felt we could not trust the car so part exchanged for a new Golf. A few weeks later the new owner called me to ask if any issues as he was regularly seeing warning lights on dash but without any impact on performance. A real shame this happened as I could have seen us keeping this car for many years. I will never buy another Subaru.
