Something different from the main stream

This is my first experience of BMW ownership, having previously had a jaguar xf. I wanted something more practical, with reasonable running costs. Performance wise, the car does not disappoint. It's reasonably quick and economical. I personally love the way the car looks, and the shape has allowed this car to combine interior space, practicality and comfort. When I got the car, I only had it a week and it had to go in for a recall. BMW lent me a brand new 3 series (loved it), cant fault their customer service. The engine performs well throughout the range, and the gearbox is very smooth (better than the jags). The ride quality is great, comfortable with assured handling, either on the motorway or country roads. This car is everything I need in a car and has loads of standard kit, mine has the optional electric pan roof. They also seem to hold their price very well. I'd say that my only gripe is that some of the fixtures/fittings are not up to the high quality I would have expected of a BMW. SOS button built into roof is a thoughtful touch though. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this.
