Renatec, Bristol

I've not had a particularly good experience with renatec ltd, i have a renault scenic semi auto (2010) and i took it to them with a gearbox issue (jumping out of gear), they kept the car for about a week, did the usual diagnostics, various tweaks and a software update, but after collecting the car and driving about 20 miles it started jumping out of gear again, anyway i contacted them and they have advised me not to bring it back as they have a 'new' policy of not accepting any Renault vehicles with automatic gearboxes! so obviously they don't have the technical expertise and only want to take on the easy jobs, i feel quite cheated by after having paid them for the first failed lot of work only to be told to go somewhere else, its really quite pathetic that they call themselves 'renault

Took my Audi A1 TFSI for a service and timing belt replacement, cost was very competitive and was fixed in one day, everything was clearly explained and I previously had a MOT by other garage last month who said I need £1500 worth of repairs so I was preparing to trade my car in for a big loss which has left me feeling down but Lynndon confirmed my fears they were trying to rob me as all of the brake and steering work they said was needed actually wasn’t required and now my car runs like a dream Thanks Lynndon I’ll be back and be telling everyone who will listen

Booked my Renault Clio in for a cambelt change and dropped car off at 7.30 am. Returned to collect car at 5pm as instructed, however I was kept waiting until almost 8pm without an explanation or apology. Shocking and dangerous standard of workmanship. My car was left with broken and damaged parts and a fuel line left a couple of mm above the auxiliary belt. If the line had come into contact with the belt I would have had petrol spraying all over engine bay. I have no idea how this garage has positive reviews and I would give 0 stars if I could DO NOT trust this garage with your car under any circumstances. As a footnote, I have photographic evidence of the damage caused to my car just in case anybody disbelieves me.

Visited Renatec today for a service and mot and my car had noticeably been sluggish for a while, they serviced and diagnostically tuned it and I’m very pleased now and will be back and definitely would recommend thanks guys for the polite efficient service

I am very impressed with the overall service, I had an MOT and service and some diagnostics. They diagnosed my light on the dash then fixed the same day! Lynndon the owner ended up being able to fix the issue without throwing parts at it as well so i saved money, very pleased. All staff seem polite and willing to help. And they give a 12 month/12k miles warranty as well.

I am pleased with Renatec's efficiency and price, after shopping around I found they were cheapest in the area.

I had a service on my Reno clio at Renatec, it came up with a few minor problems with battery capacity and brake pads and discs which I had repaired straight away as its coming up to winter. I also spoke to the technician there who explained how long I had on my clutch before it will packup who was very helpful. Also ended up getting an ECU-remap there which was quite cheap:) Very happy.

I thought i'd write this review for renatec as they've been looking after my car for quite a few years now. They've been nothing but helpful, lovely bunch of guys down there, so polite. I brought my Hyundai I10 for its annual MOT and got a service too and everything is perfect, Pipa

I received a very good service from the get go, all staff showed a lot of care to my Espace and answering all my queries. Seemed trustworthy and confident. They had clean welcoming facilities. Their service and MOT are competitively priced. I will definitely be returning for my winter checks! Thanks again Renatec, James.

After having used Renatec a few times in the past it has become clear that they are clueless. They have charged me to find out what is wrong with my car numerous times, but never actually make the effort to fix it. When they have tried, they have done a totally unsatisfactory job: My exhaust front pipe was split, so I took it to them to weld. The 'weld' which has since been described by Renatec as 'perfect' and by another garage as 'chicken sh*t' consisted of black silicone rubbed over a pipe which exudes incredible heat when in use, rendering the silicone little more than a dripping mess. The weld lasted 1 day and upon returning to Renatec, I was faced with a torrent of verbal abuse and aggression. I have been told I am a liar to suggest the weld is not good enough and that if I do not buy new parts for my car I should f*ck off. I understand that this sounds extreme, but believe me when I say, it shocked me as well. The appalling level of service received from Renatec both when I am paying them money, and even more so when I am questioning their work has left me shaken, and in all honesty, reluctant to return to tell the owner how his staff treat his customers. My advice, leave well alone, don't be tempted by the 'specialist in French cars' hyperbole, instead go elsewhere and perhaps you will not be shouted at in the garage office and made to feel so on edge that you literally walk away checking over your shoulder to ensure the abuse goes no further than verbal.

I've been using Renatec to service my cars since 1995. Lyndon has a very high standard of work and usually goes the extra mile. Quite simply I wouldn't go anywhere else.
