Hi

After a garage overhaul, is it illegal for the garage not to road test a customer's car?

If so, what can a customer do to ensure the garage will road test a customer's car?

The garage is a member of the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMI) & The Good Garage Scheme?

Apologies, I meant a brake overhaul by a garage

New front / rear calipers / pads / brake lines

New Master Cylinder

New Handbrake cables / new pads.

I would think after all that work , the garage would have carried out a road test to make sure everything was in order. It’s not a legal requirement. Must be an old car .

I'd say it's bad practice, rather than illegal.

Just to note - the Good Garage Scheme is just a name for garages that sells certain Engine Flush products and isn't any kind of independently audited scheme.

If it is also a MOT centre they could test it on their rolling road ?
