Is EGR failure a common issue after the emissions update?

Soon after the emissions update our Skoda Yeti 2.0 TDL had to have a new ERG recirculating valve fitted at huge expense. Luckily, we we covered but this cover has now expired. The warning light has come back on for the same possible problem. Is this due to the update?

Common. Due to the extra soot created by reducing the NOx. You might be all right. I strongly advise you to switch to superdiesel such as Shell V-Power Nitro Plus, BP Ultimate, etc because other readers have found this suits the revised injection sequence better, giving more torque at low revs.
