What secondhand hatchback or estate will offer the longest floor space?

I need a secondhand hatchback or estate that has a long floor space, with seats down in case of hatchback, rather than just large cubic capacity. Which would you recommend on a budget of £14,000?

I think you'll get the longest in a Ford Mondeo Estate or a Skoda Superb Estate. We have been measuring lengths for the past couple of years but it was very spasmodic since then. See www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests
