My 1998 Vauxhall Astra has good compression but still misfires - what's wrong with it?
I have a 1998 Vauxhall Astra G that has a misfire on no.1 cylinder. I have replaced the coil pack, plugs and leads and still have a misfire. It has got loads of compression in the engine. Has anyone come across this fault?

Well if you have done all that, (and you are 100 per cent sure that you have good compression in the cylinder) my last suggestion is to look at the distributor cap, firstly to see if it has any sign of cracks (both inside and out) and secondly to look at the actual segment inside the cap relating to number 1 cylinder, to see if its worn or damaged in any way.
