Why does my car make a scraping noise when in reverse?
Six months ago I had the brake pads replaced on my 2008 Ford Focus. However, ever since then, I've noticed that the car makes an intermittent scraping noise when in reverse.
When driven forwards there is no problem or noise when braking at any speed.
My local dealer has investigated twice and 'stripped down to look' found nothing and the problem is still there. Any ideas?

Rusty rear brake discs and running the pads that have worn into the grooves when going forwards against the grooves in them in reverse.
