Buying a used Kia Cee'd

I went to view a used Kia Ceed recently, which was advertised with "full service history". The car is being advertised by an independent dealer and it has a service history, but with a non-Kia garage, so I understand the full seven year warranty isn't valid?

Otherwise, the car is in excellent condition and at a reasonable price, so I am thinking of buying it. However, the dealer has offered to give it a new MoT (when existing one expires in four months) and a three month warranty. What do you think?

That is correct. The seven year warranty will not apply. A car can be tested for a new MoT anytime, but it will only last for 12 months from the date of the test itself.

A dealer is responsible for any fault that could have been present on the date of sale for six months from the date of sale. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/
