Which Vauxhall Corsa do you recommend?

I am going to change my wife's 2009 1.4 Corsa. She requires five doors, reversing sensors and aircon. The car does around 7000 miles pa, mostly short journeys but with the odd longer ride. There is such a bewildering choice of engines that I don’t know what would be best. We need fuel economy, low tax and insurance costs. Which Corsa would you recommend?

I wouldn't. I'd go for a Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost instead. But if it has to be a Corsa, avoid the 1.3 diesel like the plague. The 1.2 four cylinder chain cam is an old engine now. The 1.4 4 cylinder chain cam is newer. Vauxhall was due for a brilliant new 1.2 chain cam, manifold in head, petrol turbo before the tie up with PSA that may mean Peugeot engines in small Vauxhalls.
