What is your opinion of Volkswagen's DSG automatic gearbox?

I am intending to place an order on Saturday for a Volkswagen 1.4 SE Golf with the DSG gearbox. After reading bad comments on this gearbox I am now unsure whether to proceed. Your comments would be appreciated.

Most owners get on with them, as long as they change the oil and microfilter every three years. But they can hesitate when leaving side roads and entering roundabouts because of the way the ECU picks up signals from the brake pedal switch and the slight delay that can occur. They don't allow you to move the lever from N to D without pressing the brake pedal. And VAG has been forced to extend the warranties on them to five years in Russia, China and Australia.
