Mercedes-Benz won't replace my rusting tailgate

I have a Mercedes-Benz E-Class. It has been serviced by Mercedes-Benz dealers to date and should be covered for Rust for 30 years. My problem - a corroded tailgate - was investigated by Tonbridge dealers who submitted report to Mercedes-Benz Customer Services.

I asked Tonbridge for copy of their report, they replied

"I have spoken to my Manager and confirm that I am not able to give you a
copy of the Warranty Eskulab sent to Mercedes Benz.

I have, however, spoken to Mercedes Benz again and subsequently re-input
A claim for the tailgate, but, once again, it has been denied."

You will note Tonbridge Mercedes-Benz felt the tailgate should be covered. There is tailgate and other rust that is nothing to do with chipping or outside damage.

This is a standard problem that we have warned about for at least 5 years. Mercedes-Benz somehow finds a way to wriggle out of what customers understand their 30 year Mobilo warranty to mean. There is no satisfactory answer except to attempt to sue, but Mercedes-Benz is a formidable legal adversary.
