license has been revoked in 2009 and I had no idea?

I was pulled over by the police for speeding a few weeks ago. I was sent a fixed penalty notice of 3 points and £60 fine. I could not find my counter part driving license anywhere so called the DVLA to order a new one in order to pay my fine. DVLA tell me that my license was revoked in February 2009 but they cannot tell me what for as the points have now been wiped from the system.

I passed my test in March 2007 and in September 2008 I was caught speeding (36 in a 30) and stupidly ignored the letters. I was then sent a court summons for 15th February 2009, which I attended and received 3 points and £60 fine - which I have checked with the magistrates court. I have called DVLA again and informed them of this, and they have launched an investigation. They say they will be in touch with me in two weeks time.

I have a company car and rely on it for work, as I drive up to 300 miles per day, I go back to work tomorrow after two weeks off - and I have to tell them what has happened. I am still in my probation period with work and I am likely to lose my job if this doesn't get sorted out.

Is there anything more I can do? Can they give me 6 points for the offense? If DVLA does not re instate my license can I appeal, or is it too late?
