Cooling system woes on my C-MAX
When I started my car a few days ago I noticed that the radiator fan was running, even on a frosty morning - is this correct? I now have a problem with the thermostat or cooling temp control. The temp gauge seems stuck on zero and takes a very long time, say 20 or 30 miles to come up to temp.
This just happened yesterday and again today - the engine usually heats up in a couple of miles.

Well if it is taking a long time for the engine to reach normal working temp, then the thermostat is most likely failed (it fails in the open position) and hence takes a lot longer for the engine to warm up.
No the fan should not be running first thing, it could be a number of things ie relay etc, best to get it checked out when having the thermostat done.
