Mondeo coil pack.

My 2003 2000 Mondeo has done 102,000 miles and has been excellent throughout. Recently it started to "pink" and struggle to pull away in higher gears without jerking. After a couple of weeks to eliminate faulty fuel, I took it in to a guy who is an ex Ford mechanic who diagnosed it was the coil. He fitted a new Ford (said it was not worth fitting anything else) coil pack and HT leads.

Everything is now fine but I was staggered by the cost - £296. Is this acceptable or should I just not go back to this chap. He said the coil and HT lead came to about £190 - can this be right?
