My car won't start

My Xsara Picasso 2.0 HDI wont start! I have checked the fuel system and fuel is coming from the tank to the injectors, but it does not seem to return to the tank, possibly as both ports on top of the filter housing are both under pressure.

There are a number of things that it could be.
1.Are you getting the engine to turn over fast enough(if not the pump will not generate enough pressure to activate the start of injection)?
2.Glow plugs /relay faulty.
3.Faulty pressure regulator, fitted on the high pressure pump and also a sensor fitted on the rail.
4.Faulty cam/crank sensor- check that it is not loose ,cracked or damaged.
5.Injector wiring harness, if your injectors are under the rocker cover,it can lead to oil coming into contact with the electrical connections.

Failing that you may want to have a diagnostic check carried out, which may highlight the fault by code.
