Why does the Skoda Citigo make a clicking sound when I change gear?

I am thinking about buying a Skoda Citigo but I can hear a clicking noise when changing up through the gears, is this a sign of a gearbox problem? The garage says it is normal because the car has very little soundproofing.

The garage is correct, the Citigo/Up/Mii does not have a great deal of soundproofing and this means you tend to hear every click and clunk in the cabin.

The sound could be the carpet catching the pedal or a normal part of the gearbox/clutch workings. All reported problems for the Citigo are listed in the Good/Bad section here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/skoda/citigo-2012/
