Re-tractorble
My wife has a 10-year-old Mercedes SLK, in mint condition, having done only 38,500 miles from new. The retractable roof is the problem. It sticks half-way when closing, but after 10mins it usually closes OK. It has been to a Mercedes garage, which adjusted side-flaps and lubricated cables, but the problem persists. Not wishing to part with a good car, can this problem be solved?

If you live in the country (your address contains the word ‘Farm’) get an agricultural machinery specialist to look at the mechanism. Folding car roofs use the same sort of electric motors and hydraulics as agricultural machinery.
