How often should I re-gas the air con on my car?

I have not re-gassed the aircon on my 1999 BMW 7 Series in four years but it is still ice cold. Should it be checked anyway?

As long as you're using the system all year round, you shouldn't have a problem. Manufacturers recommend having the system regassed every two years - but most drivers wait until the air conditioning's efficiency starts to reduce before taking action.
