Should a new clutch after just 7500 miles be covered under warranty?

I purchased a new Vauxhall Astra in January 2017. l have done 7400 miles and they tell me l need a new clutch. Should this not be under warranty?

It depends on how you have been driving the car. Clutches are not normally warranted for longer than six months because of the ease with which a driver can destroy a clutch.
