What's best for a campervan - a Euro5 or Euro6 engined van?
I want to buy a l second hand low mileage LWB panel van to convert into a motorhome. I plan for a professional converter to carry out the work over the winter. I am particularly impressed by the fuel economy of the EU6 versions of the Citroen Relay, Peugeot Boxer and Fiat Ducato, but with the impending legislation for Ultra Low Emission Zones in several urban areas, I expect the supply of EU6 compliant vans might become an issue, and prices to rise, as demand increases. Conversely, there may become available, a glut of cheaper EU5 vans. Am I right to be concerned about this?

Euro6 or Euro5? It’s a tricky one, but I’d be inclined to choose Euro5 for a camper as you could make huge savings on the purchase price. Indeed, values are predicted to plummet over the next 12/24 months as businesses look to swap their Euro5 vans for Euro6: vans.honestjohn.co.uk/van-news/van-market-news/201.../
Given that you'll seldom take your camper into a city centre, like London or Birmingham, I don’t see how the Euro5 rules will affect you. Yes, you might get the occasional charge to enter, but the £10-£20 daily fee will be peanuts compared to the thousands you'll save in buying Euro5.
