Vauxhall Corsa – 76.7% pass rate

The Vauxhall Corsa came third in the overall sales charts in the UK in 2013, which means it is a common and good value choice for many first-time buyers, both as a new and used purchase. However, it’s also one of the biggest culprits when it comes to failing its first MoT, with only 76.7 per cent making it past the testers unchecked.

Many of these failures could be easily avoided, though, as 10 per cent of those that don’t make it through do so because the windscreen wipers aren’t up to standard. The other reasons for failure are relatively widespread, with 2.9 per cent failing due to faulty brake lights, 2.2 per cent due to the windscreen washers and 1.8 per cent don’t make it through thanks to the to the suspension.
