Arguably one of the most important lists in the MoT Files and the data here shows the 10 best manufacturers when it comes to 2010 registered cars passing the MoT at the first time of asking.

Mazda 84% pass rate 

The fourth and final Japanese entry in our top 10 is Mazda, with an average first MoT pass rate of 84 per cent. Like Suzuki, the firm doesn’t have any outstanding scorers, but does boast notable rates for the (pictured) 3 (88 per cent), RX-8 (87 per cent) and the iconic MX-5, which achieves an MoT pass rate of 86 per cent.
