Barnet Motor Medics

I actually wrote the high praise in the other review on here but since then my view has changed exponentially. When I visited that first time the garage was being managed (temporarily as it turned out) by the owner's nephew. A nice guy just holding the fort. Now the auntie is in charge the place is a total nightmare. One van had a problem with the ECU. They said it was knackered and they should throw it away. I bought a replacement kit, and they said it was no good either. They boxed the kit up and left it in the van and only recently have I realised that the expensive replacement ECU is not in the box so they kept it. I have also recently discovered that I simply needed to send the original broken ECU away with a replacement unit and it could have been reprogrammed. Not an option since they threw it away, and the alternative option will now cost me thousands. Before that realisation I took another van down late in the evening and left it outside as it was obvious the clutch had gone. I was told the next morning that the fly wheel needed replacing also, as just replacing the clutch would mean it would wear out within a couple of months. I had the work completed and then a couple of months later the clutch went again. They had NOT replaced the fly wheel at all...only charged for it. Short story long, ignore my previous review. they are the dodgiest garage I have ever endured.

Believe it or not an honest, reliable and competent garage. Very reasonably priced and a pleasure to deal with. Have done me favours above and beyond what I expected and I cannot recommend this business highly enough. Example? I smashed in the front of my car and took it to Todaton. They spent half an hour pulling the front out, straightening the bonnet so it would open and close, straightening the lights and generally making it legal and roadworthy. They then gave me two new orange bulbs for the broken indicators and even some orange tape to cover them. The charge? (and I'm not making this up) £5 for the bulbs and nothing more. I kid you not. Old fashioned attitude to customer service and I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.
