I travelled 250 miles to buy the car was asked the day before to pay in full without having seen it on picking it up the engine bay was filthy interior the same a door seal worn away to nothing badly prepared doesnt come clos e to saying how bad it was but saw through that and it seemed a relativily good one owner car as i was told on the phone 1 local owner which on receiving the log log book i was number 4 after having the car a few days the gearbox seemed faulty so took it to local vw approved dealer who said the clutch or the transfer shaft was to blame so looked to exchange it last minute you can have a full refund drove 500 miles to do that not heard anything since not had the decency to confirm it by e mail and the same car is up for salr 400 pounds more must be due to me spending 3 solid days cleaning it out

I bought the car from this garage on Wednesday last week. Sarah was the person I dealt with. She did a video for me, as I live north of Peterborough, 260 miles away. She did at the time not point out any faults with the car. When i spoke to Sarah over the phone to organise deposit, I stated that at the price asked for the car, I expected immaculate. Sarah explained it had a very small scratch by the drivers side handle and a small scratch on the chrome on the rear bumper. The truth was different. i picked the car up after a 8 1/2 hours train journey. Never buy a car in the rain they say. The scratch by the door handle will cost £250-300 to put right. It was a scratch as well as someone had opened the door onto a wall so the edge of the door had ben scratched. The minor issue on the rear bumper turned out to be a dent and the chrome has cracked. To add to this the car was filthy, theres no other word for it, not been properly cleaned at all. Engine bay looks like it has been through Sahara on a day with sandstorm. Inside had not been disinfected and properly cleaned. Further to this the warranty book has not been gone through, the car should have had a lengthy checkover and should have been signed by the mechanic who had carried it out. Nothing had been done at all. All in all a very disappointing experience. Do your homework if you buy second hand from this garage.

Regent Garage pulled out all the stops to diagnose the problems and put them right. Not the cheapest garage but when you know that they are capable of analysing and curing problems they are worth the extra.
