Raymond Smith Sales & Service, Moggerhanger

I have been taking my car to Moggerhanger Garage for many years without any problems whatsoever, but would never go back. I took my car for an MOT and a half-service on 07.03.2024, which cost £450. However, they failed to reset the service dashboard notification, which now bleeps every time I start the car. They also failed to fix the nearside brake light, so I don't understand how the car actually passed the MOT?! I took my car back to the garage this morning to have the brake light fixed and initially the 'mechanic' told me to leave the car there, but as I had to get to work that wasn't an option, so they agreed to do it there and then. When I went to drive off, they told me I had to pay £10 and proceeded to tell me some waffle about how if you touch the brake light, it often works?! Bring back Raymond Smith, he never ripped me off!

This is my second time that I’m taking my car to this garage and I can’t fault them , absolutely brilliant service, this time they even picked the car up from my house and dropped it back after servicing and MOT it. Thanks guys . I would recommend this garages to all my family and friends

Sold us a car that hadn't been checked. When we started driving it home with a child in the car it was misfiring and the breaks scraping. We took it straight back. All around the head gasket it was leaking oil that they tried to wipe away - until smoke started coming off the engine. They gave me a courtesy car that turned out not to have MOT on. When I collected the car after a week there was still an oil leak so I took it to another garage for a second opinion. They checked the engine and the breaks and said straight away to take it back and get my money back. When we took the car back Dhilon laughed at the situation on three different occasions. I would strongly recommend not using this garage. The good reviews you find refer to the previous owner Raymond Smith not the family that have taken over it now.

I moved to Moggerhanger 3 years ago, there's a pub, this garage and about 40 houses. So it's a small village. The neighbours recommended Raymond Smith from the outset, which in itself is unusual to hear good things of any garage. Since then, my wife's Mk5 Golf GTI has been serviced there twice, cam bet and water pump replaced, a stone broke the A/C radiator and they did that job. All prices are cheaper than main-line dealer, all work is excellent and there's no BS when my wife asks a non-savvy mechanical question they answer with manners and don't try it on. Recently the Golf was serviced and a day later my wife went back and asked to buy a spare litre of oil - VW charge £20 for this (ouch) and Raymond Smith filled up a spare litre container and handed it over for free. After a debate they accepted payment by means of 2 packets of biscuits! I have a Porsche Boxster, it's just been MOT'd at Raymond's - passed fine except when my wife collected the car told her it's had it and needs scrapping! What a refreshing, no nonsense nice garage.
