GRRRRRRRRR talk about daylight robbery took car in for MOT last week failed on break disk and a coil spring , easy job so said ok how much £350 with labor ,lovely jumbly when can you do it , mmmm can only fit you in on 14th feb , great so valentines day . so takes car in this morning , car driving great to me who happens to be ex mechanic and very mechanically minded drop off 8.30 . walked back to Chester le street 4 miles waited and waited now 2.00 so rings up , hi how's it going is the car done ... NOPE we had problems ....HERE WE GO ye your break calipers are both seized iv redone the invoice its going to cost you £750 .. hang on a min you had the car for mot last week told me £350 surly if they was seized you would of said or spotted them then ?????? ye but now breaks are gone errrrrm nope mate they not ,I'm on me way back in il have a look half way there phone go's hi its the garage ye can do it at £500 now HAY ??? . no mate no the breaks are fine ,so told him i used be a mechanic and already looked at it before mot attitude changed , i said il be 15 mins so gets there i said no way mate nothing wrong with that car or the breaks , how you think i drove here if calipers was seized id have no breaks it ended up with him putting my car back together with new spring coil on back , said it will take an hour to put it all back . said cost to pay now £125 , fine il do breaks me self once iv looked il be back in an hour gets half way up road phone go's garage hi sorry i give you wrong price its £220 now for new coils and labor wtf labor £150 for 45 mins , so still no mot cars had life screwed out of it and now like a bag of shit . MOT GARRAGES why you ripping people off you had a little job but decided try a fast one on me been taking my car here for last 5 years , but today i think who ever was in charge tried to pull a quick one on me some young know it all well you lost a customer , so this morning gets my tools out and started take wheel of nuts on wheel loose break calipers loose .OMG who has had this car so takes nuts off and caliper and got my jumped in car pushed break , piston on caliper came out no problem get G.clamp and pushed it back in easy Now im a guy with heart condition and angina doing this then a guy walks past who works for Halfords asked if im ok so told him my story he said by looks nothing wrong caliper working made just need new disk and breaks so iv took photos of both wheels also been on phone asking why he said they was seized no examination only said i offered to show you WHAT , i wish i looked i would of educated him , iv now ordered the parts less that £100 for both front disk and brakes SO CONCLUSTION THEY TRYED TO RIP ME OFF from the mot that was a quick fix to £750 on day to fix it with prices changing to suit his pockets LOOK AT THE PHOTOS IV POSTED took me 45 mins to take both wheels off and calipers see that nothing but a couple of front disk needed even the rubber seals are fine the fluid you see is WD40 that really wasn't needed conclusion if breaks was seized this would of come up on the MOT , but didn't ??? on the day they tried it on with an ex mechanic i already checked my car before hand all that was needed was a little clean with wire brush and 2 disc and breaks i am going to go further with this Rogue mechanics association have been contacted Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the garage has an obligation to use reasonable care and skill when completing any repairs, servicing or investigations on your car. Therefore, if the garage has failed to use reasonable skill and care in the work The Motor Ombudsman for further investigation. LOOK AT OTHER REVIEWS ON THEM OMG
