Transparent pricing - it was obvious what I as paying for and how much each item cost. Open about the work that was required and what was optional. Good general communication - did not try to sell me services/ parts I didn't need, polite.

Have used this garage for over 10 years. I recently bought a 5 year old A3 from a dealer and was concerned at the metallic noise on start up. Gary from HandC listened to the engine and immediately diagnosed the fault as a timing chain mal -function. He offered to write me an advise note in order that I could return to the purchase garage. In the event this was not necessary - I passed on Gary’s assessment and the garage carried out the replacement of the timing chain at no cost to me. Well done HandC - with thanks.

Was told that immobilzer issue had been fixed, charged £168 only to find car broke down a day later. Said they would talk about producing a report on immobilization issue and any peripheral issue, had to ask if they would be prepared to write a report several times to no avail they got very short with me. I left the car as an exchange for a car they were working on and was told would need the breaks looking at soon and would cost no more than a Ford Fiesta to repair and maintain. £120 I was told the cost would be, ended up being charged £160. Then I questioned a rough sound under the car, was told nothing wrong, later found out it was exhaust issues (£200-£300 to repair) on top of alternator replacement (£420) and turn off service light when they had serviced the car in Feb 2018, £110. On of paying £3,000 for LV55 CKE 312i BMW from them. Not good service at all considering they had serviced the car according to the service book for the past 2 years. Feel completely let down and stung. Would definitely not return in a million years. Heavily pregnant at the time with a one year baby - needed a reliable car was given a car with loads of hassle in tow.

Going to work the front spring snapped on my Mercedes CLS managed to get the car to work in the safety of our car park . Rang H & C's told them about my problem was it ok to get RAC to drop the car round to them. No problem at all that was Monday evening, car fixed and back on the road after having both front springs replaced on Tuesday evening, this being and emergency I'm very impressed they managed to sort me so quick. Agreed they cant do this all the time but having a garage like this to hand with an excellent bunch of guys is most satisfying and reassuring This garage come very very very highly recommended
