"disappointing "

I recently purchased a vehicle from here, and was excited to collect the vehicle as I had always wanted a Honda Civic however the day didn't go to plan. I phoned G AND M before I went to collect the vehicle and make sure it was ready, they said yes everything was fine and come down but we haven't managed to put any fuel in the vehicle since the test drive and back then it only had 20 miles reminding, which wouldn't even see me home. Once I arrived I signed the paperwork and they were going to let me go, when asked we need to TAX my vehicle first. This was then a problem and the sales manager disappeared in the office from 5 minutes, then came out and said they don't have the V5 for the vehicle, so will need to tax the vehicle on a v62 however this can't be done unless the vehicle is in the trade, i know this because I am an administrator for a car dealership. Then they said i need to trust the previous owner doesn't un-tax his vehicle and drive under his tax and not have the vehicle in my name. i didn't want to do this, but didn't have a choice as I didn't have another car to drive and they couldn't provide me a demo. After all this we finally agreed they will take responsibility for any issues and i drove the car home, well half way home, then realized they hadn't fitted the dashcam, like they said they would. so i drove back, walk in and asked where the dash cam was and the sales person my dad handed it to, spoke to him in a disgusting manner, then the whole sales team disappeared. after 15 minutes of searching they had lost my dash cam, they gave me a replacement. After over a week fighting to get the v5 for my vehicle, I finally got it and did everything myself on their behalf as I couldn't trust them to do it correctly. i will never go back to this dealership after the way i have been treated and have not even received a proper apology from them.

"High on Excuses Low on Actions"

On Friday 22nd November 2019 I put my car into G&M for a service and also asked for the handbrake to be checked. When I booked the car in they advised me it would be ready in about an hour. I returned after about an hour and a half later and the receptionist told me the car was being washed and would be available shortly. I only waited about 10 minutes and the car was ready I paid and left....just what you want from a garage no fuss everything ok. The following Tuesday the 26th the car failed its MoT due to the front off side tyre being below the legal limit, the front near side was an advisory. The MoT garage showed me the tyre so I knew they were not lying. Clearly G & M had missed this because the measurement recorded on the service sheet was 3 mm on the front. I phoned G&M and spoke to their manager he was very surprised and I offered to bring the car back for him to look at which I did. On arrival I joined him in the service bay where he put the car on a ramp, which he said wasn’t available when the car was serviced adding that the handbrake wouldn’t have been adjusted either. Whilst the car was on the ramp I was able to the car in daylight for the first time since the service. There was some clear “wipe marks” where someone had wiped some dirt off the car, and I replied it doesn’t look like it got cleaned all that well either. He agreed and showed surprise that I had been told it had been cleaned at all. During the next 10 minutes the service manager gave a number of excuses etc. I fact it was difficult to get a word in edgeways. The biggest problem was the car was too small (Smart Car) which didn’t fit on any ramp except the MoT bay, amongst the other excuses was ‘it was a busy a Friday evening’ the ‘Reception should have advised me that the handbrake adjustment wasn’t carried out’. He apologised for the poor work and then repeated the excuses and promised it ‘wouldn’t happen in the future’.

"Illegal MOT, had to go elsewhere"

Purchased a Hyundai Veloster from them, salesman was nice and all was easy- then the issues came. headlights not aligned when driving in the dark so took it back- they said the bulb wasn't strong enough. Went to a Hyundai garage and the lights were not aligned and there were no less than 6 other faults that should not have passed the MOT. since then have also found other issues adding up to over £500. Absolute shambles. Added to this, when I have brought it to their attention about all of these faults they have just been paying for the issues, surely any good business wants to see the proof and ensure their standards of MOT are investigated? Clearly only care about taking people’s money and not delivering a good (or even legal) service.

I had no other choice but to give one star as there was no other option. This is a message for Ray who is the manager of G & M Motors and the sales man who sold me the car. I bought a Mercedes E220 estate from your selves. Apparently the car was owned by Ray i have tried calling so many times to speak to Ray. but he is never there and busy in a meeting and i am told that Ray will get back to me or Barry will get back to me. I understand i bought a used car and there will be some things that i will have to get repaired. So in about a month the front near side suspension ball joint went. I got it replaced. I had to call Ray and Barry 4 or 5 times to let me have the Warranty Documents as promised at the time of sale so that i can get the work done. Barry promised that it is on its way and i will receive it in a few days. I waited another month. Warranty papers were no where to be seen. So called up and as usual Mr. Ray was busy. So i left a message so that either Ray or Barry to call me. i waited another few days and called back, this time i was able to speak to Barry. Barry said that Ray should have sent the Warranty papers long back as he to him that he had already sent it. Barry said that he will make sure that i get it in the next few days and assured me of that. I bought the car mid January 2016 and it now June 2016. I have sent a number of emails to Adam to pass on the message as well. I have all the phone records to prove how many times i have called. On top of all this when i called Mercedes to get the car serviced they told me that the car has not been serviced buy then since 2006. where as i was told that this car has a full service history even as per the add in Auto trader which i have a copy of. When asked Barry told me that the Mercedes service history is all digital and Mercedes will be able to give it to you if you need it. So I Guess that this car has not been serviced in the past 10 years!! Mr. Ray i think you will have to prove that this car has been serviced and had a full service history as i have witnesses to prove that Barry said that this car had a full service history. All i want is the service history and the warranty documents and it should cover me from June 2016 not Jan 2016. If i do not get a reply to this message I will have no choice but to take it further. Dont know if the service you provide to your customers is always like this. Your company sells Brand New HONDA cars as well, do they receive the same service. you guys have all my contact details Please get in touch with me. If I dont hear back from yourselves, I will have no other choice but to take legal advice.

We bought our Honda's IMA and Civic Inspire new from G & M not only were they the best on price but have continued to supply excellent service at all times. The cars being returned to us clean and well serviced nothing is too much bother for them and they are very human,friendly and approachable. I spent the my earlier career as a garage mechanic and later it was more convenient to have them do the work needed as it needed more specialist tools than I owned or wanted to own. This mechanic experience meant I could recognize an excellent garage when I found one.They are.
