Chiltern Body Shop, Bedford

I visited Chiltern BodyShop to get my rear bumper and tailgate sprayed. However, I am left extremely disappointed in the quality of their work. It has been six weeks and their paint job has started to bubble and there is a crack on the rear bumper. They also complained and kicked up a fuss when asked to polish out minor defects that occurred due to their shoddy spray job.

I tried out this Bodyshop after reading a review in HJ and took my Jag estate in to have a door replaced and bumper scrape repaired, price quoted was the price I paid and the finish was excellent, done on time and very friendly people. after a few weeks I noticed a couple of external trim bits hadn't been changed over (chrome at top of door and bottom trim was slightly different, I spoke to the owner Sandy and there was no problem, he arranged to have it all done at no cost, I just supplied a new lower trim. Would definitely use them again

Took my classic car in for some work as I had heard good things, when I went back and picked up the car there was a gouge on edge of drivers door which wasn't there when I took it in. The paint had come off and metal gouged- his workshop is small and access difficult and it doesn't surprise me accidents happen, it had been caught on something solid- being my pride and joy I know my car to the smallest detail, this mark hadn't been there before, but his attitude was very poor as soon as I pointed it out to him. The owner Sandy went very defensive, and told me to prove it was his fault- I was calm and not angry, he basically washed his hands of it. So my experience is be very cautious taking anything of personal value to him- careless is a word I would use for this company. wouldn't go near the place again
