HJ Davies and Son, Abergavenny

I have been going to H. J. Davies for a few years now and they have been nothing but fair, straight and very kind. They are always very practical in solving problems, always keeping jobs as simple as possible to keep the bills reasonable and always keep things simple. Martin, his wife Helen and his team are always friendly and very helpful. They always keep you informed and always do a good job. I can't recommend them highly enough. They have serviced my car regularly, always done the MOTs and are the first people I call when there is a problem and they do what they can to help. They invariably fix pretty much anything that comes up and if they feel that I will get a quicker and cheaper job done with a specialist, they will suggest that I go elsewhere. Sometimes they have a recommended contact, other times, they make helpful suggestions about how to find a suitable specialist to get the job done properly. As a result of this attitude, you go away feeling like they are looking out for you and taking care of your best interests.

My elderly but good car went in for its MOT and a brake fault. Without damning other garages, I have some industry experience and usually you'd have returned to fine, new pads and brake fluid at a minimum. Mike's team mended a brake sensor fault at v low cost. I can;t recommend them highly enough.

My most recent visit was in August this year when they carried out the annual service on my current car but over the last few years I and other family members have taken a variety of cars to them for service, MOT, fault investigation etc. None of us has had less than excellent service and I rely on them for honest, unbiased advice.

We've bought and serviced every car through them since we moved here in 1987. A family business, same management, same mechanics. We completely trust their advice, and feel lucky to have found such a garage.
