My local mechanic found why my 2006 A-class was running on 2 to 3 cylinders. A rat ate my injector wiring. They found Auto Electrics who spliced in a second hand injector wiring loom and the car runs like new. This was a very cost effective solution at around £300. I also found this is not uncommon as the wiring binding contains some plant based material which rats like to chew, so peppermint and moth-balls are now deterring them from getting in there again! For classic car owners, they also re-wind dynamos and repair magnetos!

A rodent ate my wife’s wiring in a really inaccessible place! These guys found a second hand loom and spliced in the appropriate area and the cost was less than £250. They had all sorts of items old and new waiting for collection- dynamo and control box, a magneto and alternator.
