after moving to kt22 area with an AUDI Q7 i was pleased to find this gem of a mechanic. first service i needed on my used Q7with AVS was a fraction of the price that an audi dealership had quoted . Dave has also pulled out all the stops whenever we have had any serious disasters with any of our subsequent cars , e.g car alarm sounding and unable to turn off , multi media system in audi going down.... he has been utterly brilliant.

Travelling from Somerset to Gatwick on our way to a 2 week holiday our engine timing chain tensioner failed catastrophically. The recovery company ‘unofficially’ recommended this garage. After speaking to the lovely Jamie we were recovers to the garage. Dave gave us a very quick diagnostic and rough quote. We left our car with them for a couple of weeks to diagnose and repair. They couldn’t have been more helpful. We were confident they would do a good job. On collecting the car Dave explained everything and provided the most detailed cost breakdown I have seen from a garage. Also kept the broken parts to show what failed. For an unexpected breakdown on the way to the airport Dave and Jamie helped to make it the least stressful breakdown we have had. Would highly recommend.

I am not one to leave negative reviews, hence I did not even go back to complain, but if my review saves someone from issues then it is worth it. I took my car in for a major service and advised them of an intermittent, slight misfire, asking them to do an initial investigation so I can budget for repairs. When I drove the car home the slight misfire had transformed into a major one, making my vRS utterly undrivable as it struggled even to reach 30mph. I immediately took it back and the owner "did a few tests" (including supposedly checking the coil packs and diagnostics in less than 3 minutes) and advised me that I would require at least one new injector priced at around £800 each, but it is wiser to replace all together due to the hassle of stripping down the engine, etc. so it would only cost £2,500. Devastated I pondered my options only to discover that a work colleague used to be a mechanic who specialised with German cars, especially the VAG group. Once I explained the problem he was adamant that the injectors would not have failed and advised me of some tests I could carry out myself. Long story short it was then that I discovered that despite being charged for new spark plugs, these were never replaced during the service. We also noticed that one of the coil packs was "newer" than the others, but this was only the case since going in for the service... I have since had another issue that confirms that the coolant also was not REPLACED during the service as an ice build up within the radiator suddenly cleared, causing the excess pressure to shear the coolant distribution flange. The led to having to abandon my car at work (50 miles away!) while I awaited replacement parts so as to repair it myself and bring it home. As I said I had not bothered to go back to the mechanics because it is only money and I do not need the stress. I will however say that there is no excuse for itemising the cost but not replace any of the parts; apart from getting my money back what would complaining have achieved? I kept the spark plugs as a reminder and will now only go to my trusted but expensive (and far) mechanics of choice in Grays. A minor point but they also managed to dirty my car seat with something that has completely ruined the seat. Thoroughly disappointed!

We had caution lights for our 2011 Volkswagen Touran's Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP). I went through more than eight quotes from various VW dealer and independent specialist garages. Audi VW Specialist (AVS) was the only garage that had strong reviews and were willing to do a diagnostic at a reasonable flat fee, whilst others quoted high upfront charges and/or variable hourly rates (I had the impression that computerised engine diagnostics would be more straightforward than what these other quotes had portrayed). Hence, I proceeded with AWS even though they are not local to us. As I expected, the diagnostic process took 3 minutes using a laptop -- the mechanic showed and explained the error codes on the screen, postulated the causes of the component's failure based on other cases he had seen, and suggested a course of action. We booked in a future date to get the issue rectified and the process was relatively pain free. We have now replaced the faulty component and I can say that we are happy with the outcome. The final price was reasonable (within my expectations) and they completed the job earlier than the stipulated time. In my view, AVS is a keeper. We shall be using them again-- reasonable prices and a good service

This is a double first for me. In 25 years of motoring I have never driven away from a garage, after having to pay for emergency repair work to be done, feeling happy! I have also never felt so completely satisfied at the service I have received that I have wanted to write an online review. I do a regular commute of 120 miles a day, three times a week and just as I set off on my return leg home last night a warning light appeared on my dash. I had no time to book it in with these guys (as it was after 6pm) so thought I would pop in on the off chance today, which I did about 11am today. Within 5 minutes they ran a diagnostic on my car between jobs and found out what the fault was. Within 2 hours they had the part and called me to come back in. Within 40 minutes the job was done. Amazing! I have been to these guys in the past so I know that my experience of them today was not a one off either. They couldn't be more friendly and helpful. If I had gone anywhere else I would have had to book it in days in advance and have to turn my working week on its head to change appointments at short notice. Anywhere else and I would have been left to face a dreaded phone call to tell me what the fault was hours after leaving it with them. Not these guys. Even when I plan to leave Leatherhead and move a short distance away I will be coming back to Audi VW Specialist Ltd as I know they are second to none!

I used Audi VW specialist limited to service my vehicle. After getting a ridiculous quote from a main dealer (double the price compared to this fantastic garage) I decided to do some digging and came across this garage through honest John. Due to work commitments I had to come down on a Monday. They were happy to book to my day and were friendly and profesional in the process. Quiet simply a fantastic business and a pleasure to use. As said before main dealer standards, customer smiling prices. Kinds regards, Mr Stock - very happy customer.

I first met with the owner of AVS some 15 years ago when he worked at an vw/audi main dealer. He was assigned to look after my brand new RS4. Over the years I had it, nothing was to much trouble for him to do, and my car was always perfect. When Dave left I followed him to his own set up in Leatherhead Surrey. I wont go anywhere else, people I know who have asked me, who looks after your cars, I put In touch with Avs. It must be getting on for 20 to 30cars, all still go there. One thing I like most is if they cant do it, they tell you, and if they come across work that is unforeseen, they call you and inform you, and not hit you with it when you go to collect it. Dave is very hands on, which is so important when its your own, he has a great team around him. and now offering MOT'S and tyres as well, I find all at great value, it takes the hassel and worry out of getting all this done. I am a real car fanatic and have been very lucky to have some lovely cars, for me AVS are yet to disappoint. Keep up the great work and service, good luck to you.

I have used Dave and his team at Audi VW Specialist in Leatherhead for a number of years, and the reason I keep returning is quite simply that they understand how to properly diagnose and fix faults without incurring unnecessary costs or time. They have excellent in-depth knowledge of all VAG cars (as well as other makes) together with the necessary diagnostic equipment and tools to service and repair them. As well as this they deliver impeccable customer service, taking the time to understand exactly what my requirements are and being flexible in accommodating my needs. I have no hesitation in recommending them to everyone, and indeed I have already sent a number of people their way.

I own an Audi Rs4 which i have always taken to a main dealer. I was recommended by a friend to try Dave at Audi vw specialist limited in leatherhead. I was a bit reluctant to try them as i have heard horror stories about other garages but my friend assured me that my car would be in good hands. I booked my car in for a service and brakes. The service provided was very professional and welcoming, i even saved money as Dave told and proved my brakes did not need changing which i was told by a main dealer they were seriously worn. the bill was even more surprising when i found out the service was nearly half the price of my previous services. i have recommended this garage to all my friends and will defiantly use them in future. EXCELLENT.
