Having constant electronic issues with a new car - can I reject it?

Five months ago, my daughter purchased a new Vauxhall Astra 1.0 turbo from a Vauxhall dealer. Two weeks ago she started to have major electronic problems. The ignition stayed on though the key was out of the car. Then she was locked out and needed help manually breaking in (there is no visible keyhole so unscrewing the handle was required). She took it into the dealer who had it for a day then pronounced it fine. Three days later she experienced the engine continuing to run with the key removed from the car. She's been quite unnerved by the problems and has rejected the car but Vauxhall insist that they should be given a second chance to fix it. Is she within her rights to reject it?
Smart lady. Bit late to reject it, though. But they do have to fix it and are allowed three attempts. If they fail on the third attempt they have to buy the car back or replace it. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/
