Honda Civic gearbox issues

I have owned a Honda Civic from new. It has been serviced annually at 8000 miles per year. When I start from cold the gearbox is smooth, however if I go on a long run of 50 miles the gear change tightens up. What could be the cause and what action can be taken?
It could be a transmission bearing problem. You might be able to alleviate it sufficiently with a molybednum disulphide transmission oil additive.
