Volvo S40 - timing belt or chain?

Have bought a 2007 Volvo S40 1.8 SE petrol with 125,000 on the clock, it has FSH but no evidence of timing belt change. I have conflicting info from the Volvo dealer and garages, one suggests car has timing belt that needs to be changed at 150,000 miles or 10 years other suggests it is fitted with a timing chain which does not require to be changed. Can you help?
As far as I know this is actually a Mazda derived chain cam engine, also shared with Ford. At the time of build, Ford owned Volvo and had a significant share in Mazda, which explains thew sharing of components. As long as the oil is changed regularly the chain cam should not need changing.
