When should I change the CVT oil in my Honda Jazz?

In November last I purchased a Honda Jazz 1.4 VTEC ES CVT, first registered March 2012, and am getting conflicting advice regarding the need to change the CVT gearbox oil. Current mileage is 6600 and it has just needed a small top-up although not yet had its first service. My anticipated use will (unfortunately) be no more than 2500 miles per year but I shall avoid as much as possible very short runs. Would appreciate your opinion please.
Every two or three years, and unfortunately the special fluid is expensive. Very low mileage actually counts as 'severe usage' because it implies successive short runs from cold starts that do not heat the engine and transmission sufficiently to evaporate off condensation.
