Should I have the oil changed in my Honda Jazz?

I have owned a 2003 Honda Jazz since new. Like my 1992 Honda Civic before, it has proved to be a fantastic car and very reliable. I wanted to ask for your advice following receipt of a letter from my local main dealer that tells me I need to get the transmission oil changed at considerable cost. The car has only done 28,000 miles and I don't remember ever having to have to do this before. What do you think? Should I pay the price, or is it a money-spinner for them?
If it's a manual this is a very good idea because the manual boxes have been suffering bearing problems, and if a CVT-7, it's absolutely essential. The fluid should be changed every three years or so and the Microfilter too.
