Dodgy service book with the approved used BMW that I'm looking to buy. Should it put me off?

I'm thinking of buying a used approved 2007 BMW 330d from a main dealer. The last service was Feb 2012 with mileage recoeded at 50,002 miles. The previous service was June 2011 at 52,000 miles, so alarm bells rang! The BMW computer says that the June 2011 mileage in the book was a mistake, and should have been 47,000 miles. They can give me a computer printout to prove this. I'm concerned about problems selling it in the future. Is my reticence justified, or should I be reassured? I've never heard of such an error before.
So do not buy this car at all. Look for another one. Why make a problem for yourself?
