Disused and abused

In your reply to an email from AL of Blackburn you say your feedback shows that little-used, water-cooled Porsches are more likely to show serious problems than those that are used daily. We purchased a 2006 Cayman S 10 months ago with 27,000 miles on the clock. Since then we have clocked 3,500 miles, many on once a week trips to National Trust properties with an average round trip of 50 miles. Is this mileage sufficient to avoid the serious problems you refer to and could you please specify what these problems might be and their likely rectification costs?
Basically, watercooled Porsche engines do not like sitting around doing nothing. Lot of problems with the 986 Boxster. Consequently, a 3 year old with 60,000 miles will usually be in far better mechanical condition than a 6 year old with 10,000 miles.
