MoT Data for Plymouth

Plymouth maybe right in the south of the country, but it sits on the coast and does nothing to buck the trend that besets most coastal areas, with failures rates related to corrosion higher than they are inland.

Fuel and exhaust problems, along with issues related to bodywork, are far more common, and the failure rate for seatbelt related issues is almost 100% higher than the UK average.

All of the failure rates for common problem areas are higher in PL postcodes. Similarly, all years and almost all makes of car have an increased chance of failure when tested in a PL area, with just Smart, Hyundai, and (oddly) Triumph scoring about their national averages.
