I have recently been caught for speeding at an alleged 35 mph in a 30mph zone despite having my Tom-Tom set to alert me when exceeding 30mph. To avoid getting any more points for speeding I am keen to purchase a devise that warns me every time I exceed any speed limit. I recently bought a ‘MySpeed Snooper’, but this missed nearly 50% of restrictions when I tested on a journey from Shropshire to North Wales. Is there a gadget that can be relied on to a give consistently reliable readings?

A lot of people are complaining about the out of date mapping used by MySpeed and this makes the product worse than useless. I have taken this up with Snooper. The fact that mapping of speed limits goes out of date so quickly is the main reason why Intelligent Speed Adaptation (a GPS system that automatically restricts cars to mapped limits) cannot safely be adopted.
